Family of Three, Soon to be Four!

Family of Three, Soon to be Four!

This family and maternity photo shoot was onsite at the expecting family’s home off of Blueberry Hill in central Taos. It was especially fun to take these pictures since Poetic Images photographed the little fella’s maternity shoot (when he was in utero) almost three years ago and have done one and two-year-old portraits of him as well! I am also looking forward to our already-scheduled three-month-old portrait shoot for “baby” who will be making an appearance in two weeks!

Spring Green Senior Portraits

Spring Green Senior Portraits

After months of portraits with brown backgrounds there is a noticeable difference in the green of spring! Just ten days prior to this shoot, we had 12″ of snow on the ground in Taos Canyon. The earth has drank up the much needed water and everything is growing! Here’s to May, the last month that we may still have a freeze. And the first month where it really feels like spring!
And here’s to Samantha from Taos Pueblo! She’s a senior in high school and is graduating at the end of this month from Taos High School. Congratulations, Samantha!!

March Engagement Sitting with Dog

This incredibly shy doggy did a great job during her parents’ photo shoot! At Poetic Images, we love 4-legged friends and always encourage you to bring ALL of your family members to your family photo sitting!

A Taos Elopement at Art Museum

A Taos Elopement at Art Museum

What fun to shoot another one of Dan Jones / Embracing Ceremony’s wedding packages at the Taos Art Museum! We had beautiful weather and beautiful light at this late afternoon wedding elopement. Hannah and Kelly booked their hotel prior to knowing their wedding site, and it turns up they were staying right next door! They also walked to their dinner site at nearby Lamberts. Cheers to the newlyweds!

An Elopement in Northern New Mexico

An Elopement in Northern New Mexico

There’s a different excitement at elopements. The elopement wedding ceremony is completely about the couple. Not about the wedding party. Not about the guests. Not about the flower girl or the ring bearer.
Elopements are the wedding ceremonies that are emotional for the bride and groom. The wedding vows that aren’t ever put on for show. An elopement is when the couples’ entire focus is on one another. It’s about each other. Totally.

Taos, NM is a unique place for an elopement. It is for the couple that wants a rare backdrop. It’s off the beaten path. It’s the road less followed. Taos is place with “charm.” A place with wonderful weather, stunning views, and colorful sunsets.

Engagement Shoot and Blended Family Portraits

Engagement Shoot and Blended Family Portraits

This soon-to-be-family came from Texas to Angel Fire, NM for a vacation. When they arrived, their home didn’t have heat…and it was 25 degrees outside. Despite a long drive, moving into a hotel, and cold temperatures, we still captured some amazing smiles. Lynn and Jon will be married this summer, little Macy loves Jon and is along for the ride! Congratulations to a beautiful engagement and a lovely blended family!
