Flower Girls and Ring Bearers

Flower Girls and Ring Bearers

A few cute children waiting to walk up the aisle can create a little entertainment for the guests before the wedding ceremony even begins. This wedding had a processional with six children walking up the aisle before the bride and groom. There was some serious corralling and herding of these kids…almost all made it up the aisle. It was fun to watch the little ones throughout the rest of the ceremony as well.

May Wedding On Rim of Rio Grande Gorge

May Wedding On Rim of Rio Grande Gorge

This bride and groom were given the gift of “perfect weather” on their wedding day. An early May wedding outdoors in Northern New Mexico can be a very unpredictable event. Thunderstorms with possible snow was forecast up until the night prior to the ceremony, and then the weather magically changed and we had sunshine instead! Jackie had her brother and her two best girlfriends stand up at the altar with her. Tyler had his father and son, Anakin, stand up with him. Anakin was not happy with his suspenders and chose to hangout with his grandma instead. Turkey vultures circled overhead and a warm breeze made the bride’s hairpiece and dress dance so appropriately. Congratulations to these newlyweds!

Lesbians from the East Coast Elope in Taos, NM

Lesbians from the East Coast Elope in Taos, NM

These awesome women have been together for 35 years. They knew that “one day” same-sex marriages would be legal, they never thought it would happen in their lifetime.
When this couple went to the county clerk to pick up their wedding license, the woman behind the counter wished the engaged congratulations and explained that she had just married her girlfriend, now wife. So the county clerk employee and her wife stood up as witnesses for the elder brides.
It was a joy and honor to take photos of this wedding. We all laughed and we all cried. Cheers to these newlyweds!

A Taos Elopement at Art Museum

What fun to shoot another one of Dan Jones / Embracing Ceremony’s wedding packages at the Taos Art Museum! We had beautiful weather and beautiful light at this late afternoon wedding elopement. Hannah and Kelly booked their hotel prior to knowing their wedding site, and it turns up they were staying right next door! They also walked to their dinner site at nearby Lamberts. Cheers to the newlyweds!

Same-Sex Marriage Elopement from Albuquerque

Same-Sex Marriage Elopement from Albuquerque

These ladies came to Taos from Albuquerque to elope! Julie and Theresa’s friends and family were clueless to their “real” plans of their weekend rendezvous, aka Their Taos Wedding!! The weather was absolutely perfect for this February 4th outdoor wedding ceremony. The same-sex marriage was officiated by Reverend Dan Jones of Taos’ Embracing Ceremony. Erika and Mark of Hacienda del Sol were the witnesses for this tiny wedding. The brides celebrated with stories, laughs, cake, and champagne after a twenty minute ceremony and some wedding photos. Congrats to this beautiful couple!!

February Wedding at Taos’ Catholic Church

February Wedding at Taos’ Catholic Church

After a few weddings outdoors this February, it was wonderful to photograph a February wedding indoors! This couple had a wedding at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, right off of the plaza in Taos, NM. I love the lighting and woodwork in this church! Liz was a beautiful bride who totally pulled off the Audrey Hepburn look. We photographed all of the family portraits with the bride and groom at the altar prior to the wedding so the couple could move right onto their reception immediately after the mass.
A big congratulations to Liz and Marcos!
