Family Photo Fun!

Amanda and Jason will be wed in Taos at the end of June. In March, they were in town to do tastings for their wedding dinner and cake, it was a perfect opportunity for us to meet in person and take some engagement and family photographs!
I have some “tricks” up my sleeve to get children to look at the camera and smile. When I pulled out these “tricks,” little Emma got scared! Thanks to her big brother, Emma found her smile and this family photo shoot turned out beautiful.

It was so much fun to visit Carrie Field’s “Taos Pilates Studio” to take photographs for her website! Taos Pilates Studio offers private, semi-private, and group sessions using Pilates equipment and through mat classes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Pilates is for everyone, the young and old, women and men, the super-fit and persons with injuries.

Amy and Miguel will have a summer wedding, so springtime is the perfect time to take their engagement photographs!
This couple is so sweet and every time they look at one another, they smile in happiness. While they were waiting for me to set up for a shot, they would look at one another with a beautiful gaze while smiling and talking. Many times I would catch them in a beautiful and candid pose and I would order, “Freeze!–Don’t move a muscle!” to get this shot, so romantic it almost looks set up!

A Mama, A Papa, and Two Beautiful Babies

Jessica and Mario are very busy parents of the cutest set of twins! Speaking as an experienced photographer, it is extremely difficult to get one kid to look (and smile) at the camera, what an extra challenge to get TWO children to cooperate! We all laughed as we chased around these kiddos, trying our hardest to get the kids in the right place at the right time. The fun never stops during family photography sessions!

Team Mother and Daughter (and BFF)

This was one of my favorite photo shoots of all time! This was a spontaneous shoot that was set up about 30 minutes before the sunset. I explained that we didn’t have enough time to do a “real” shoot with this limited window of light. This mother and daughter “team” (I just cannot explain them any other way!) just wanted a casual photo session, so we rushed to the closest pine tree. I didn’t even have to tell these folks how to pose! These two were so candid and carefree with one another and I believe these pictures radiate their happiness and love. Gwyn (the daughter) also brought her friend along for a few quick pictures (which we took in about 1.5 minutes). Again, so candid and cute! I wish every photo shoot was this carefree and easy to pull off. Thanks to this awesome team!!

The El Monte Sagrado goes above and beyond to serve the most delicious and exquisite food in the Town of Taos! No matter what your event (wedding, anniversary, baby shower, etc), the El Monte allows you to come for your own personal “tasting” so you know exactly what you want (and what to expect) on your menu for your special occasion. Not only is the food incredible, but the service is unbelievable too. Allow yourself to be catered and pampered when you come to the El Monte, allow yourself to expect the best!

Eloping on Valentine’s Day!

Ashley and Jacob came all the way from Gallup, NM to elope on Valentine’s Day weekend! This beautiful couple chose to have their destination wedding in Taos, NM because of the beauty and spirituality that Northern New Mexico radiates. These newlyweds wanted an outdoor ceremony with mountain views and this is what they received on this beautiful day, in February, under the warm, high-altitude sunshine.

Engagement Photo Shoot!

Martin and Michelle were high-school sweethearts and are finally going to tie-the-knot in June in Taos, NM! We had so much fun at this engagement session. Because of a recent snow, we were sometimes wadding through mud to get from one area to the next!–This couple did not complain one time, instead they would usually look at each other and smile! February can be unpredictable but we truly had a gorgeous day to take these romantic, outdoor photographs. I can’t wait until the wedding!!

Taos Wedding on New Year’s Day!

Laila and Joe came all the way from Oklahoma City, OK to get married in Taos, NM! This small and intimate wedding was held at Hacienda del Sol, a bed and breakfast in Taos that caters to many destination weddings. The brisk air didn’t stop this couple from stepping outside to take some pictures with the beautiful and wintery backgrounds that January in Taos offers. The ceremony took place inside of the charming hacienda, in front of a warm fireplace, with Reverend Karen Baldwin officiating.

Church Wedding in Angel Fire, NM

There is nothing like a wedding during the holidays! Julie and Steve were wed during Christmastime at the beautiful United Church of Angel Fire, NM. Their traditional wedding ceremony was small and intimate and all of their guests joined them at the altar. After the knot was tied, Julie and Steve braved the cold for some photographs in front of the mountains which were adorned snow and a sunset.
