We had this prenatal shoot on the schedule when this mama was three months pregnant and these pictures were taken three weeks before the baby was born! This was the coldest shoot that Poetic Images did in December in 2017. The temperature was lower than 20 degrees when we got started (and everyone had to breathe on cue so “breath smoke” wasn’t in the photos), amazing! Congratulations to this entire family and the recent birth of baby William! I had fun on this fun December family shoot!
This autumn was giving and the colors lasted for quite a while before the leaves fell off the trees. This single-mom took advantage of the beautiful autumn colors and had a mother/daughter shoot to document her daughter at five years old, and also to send out pictures with Christmas cards! This entire shoot was done in under 45 minutes. We climbed trees and threw leaves and laughed. Call us to set up your autumn family shoot. There is nothing more fun to look at than a smiling baby! Little Maya was so happy before her morning nap. She smiled with her big sister, and smiled with her family, and smiled all by herself! This little girl just celebrated her 1st birthday and was able to show off her big-girl standing in her one-year old portrait. We were also able to capture some fun shots of big-sister, and some individual headshots of mom and dad as well.
Having young children is the perfect excuse to have a professional family photo session!
What fun to do a family photo shoot with these smiling, happy girls! These sisters, ages one and three, giggled and smiled at the perfect times. They set up their own candid photos and allowed me just to shoot as they sat and looked cute together. I think it’s amazing how much the older child looks like her mom, and how much the younger girl looks like her father…darling!

The fall foliage peak was over but we still found some beautiful autumn colors to include with this father-daughter family photo session. Lucas and Juniper and I took advantage of a beautiful side street in town that had a few lasting yellows and golds, it even had one tree that was still green! It was a long and strange autumn this year in Taos, the wonderful thing about that was we had lots of time to get every baby, family, senior, engagement shoot, and wedding whom wanted those gorgeous autumn earth tones in their portraits.
