There is nothing like standing next to class 3 rapids to photograph the union of two wonderful women! This couple came all of the way from Indiana to Taos, NM (well, actually Pilar, NM) to have a legal marriage! The wedding took place where two rivers come together, the perfect metaphor for a wedding ceremony. The roar from the water and the hollers of “congrats” from the whitewater rafters intensified the already extraordinary energy of this wedding. Officiant, Dan Jones of Embracing Ceremonies, delivered a gorgeous ceremony, there was not a dry eye among the guests. Congrats to Kim and Melissa!
The beauty that SpiriTaos offers is unconditionally pristine! Every plant and stone is perfectly placed by officiant (and gardener) Dan Jones. Each month offers various flowering plants, fruits, and vegetables! The sound of water is present from everywhere in the garden and the energy just feels “right” for a wedding. The unobstructed mountain views are the perfect backdrop for your wedding at an altar adorned with heart rocks and red willow.
What fun to document the first time that same sex marriage licenses were issued in Taos County! New Mexicans came to the courthouse to pick up their marriage licenses and to get married! At least four weddings took place immediately, directly in front of the Taos County Courthouse. There were tears of joy and sounds of happiness as people finally began their “legal” road of “happily ever after.”
