Two Brides Married in May at Hacienda del Sol

Two Brides Married in May at Hacienda del Sol

These brides came all the way from Portland, Oregon to be married in this magical little mountain town! Both lovers of Taos and the outdoors, the wedding ceremony was under the cottonwoods in the late afternoon. Small and intimate, this wedding was both Christian and Jewish and the Ketubah was signed! The tiny reception was complete with a cake cutting and nearly a cake stabbing!

The Call family is one big family! All five of the individual familiescame from five different states to meet up in Angel Fire, New Mexico for an extended family vacation! These travelers literally took planes, trains, and automobiles to make it out to this little mountain town. The 14 children and 10 adults all stayed in one rental home together and were ready when I arrived. Although we at times there was chaos, we captured some great photos and made precious memories for this huge family.

These women are awesome. Not only are they newlyweds expecting their first baby, they are sentimental, brilliant, and funny! Their wedding included their six favorite people in the whole world, standing in a semicircle around them. Officiant Dan Jones wrote the most beautiful ceremony that encapsulated the nature and emotions that surrounded the brides and their guests (there wasn’t a dry eye in the group). After the intimate wedding ceremony, Hacienda del Sol hosted a mini reception serving wedding cake and local champagne. Kelsey and April cut their wedding cake and toasted to their future. We walked around and captured a few shots with the brides and their moms. The awesome ring picture shows that April’s ring was too small for her swollen ring finger as it’s on her pinky…her pregnant belly shows in the background of that one.
Congratulations to this new partnership of wife and wife, and to the new baby that will be completing this couple in August. Happily ever after in Taos!

Another Elopement Wedding Package with Embracing Ceremony

After a very wet winter, the mesa is about as green as it gets! Sarah portrayed the desert-green beautifully in her portraiture of this elopement at the Taos gorge overlook. The weekday afternoon was quiet from hikers and passersby as Dan Jones of Embracing Ceremony officiated one of his personable wedding ceremonies. Dan and I both offer slightly different elopement wedding packages that offer our basic service of officiating and photography, and offers add-ons (bouquet, champagne, etc) as well.

Small Wedding at Private Residence

Small Wedding at Private Residence

Taos is a popular destination wedding location for both large weddings and small, intimate weddings such as this one. This wedding started out with just four guests, but grew as more friends and family heard that these two were getting married in beautiful northern New Mexico. This couple rented a home that was large enough for everyone to stay together, and everyone helped with the wedding decorations and details. The weather was cooperative and the sky was so photogenic. The bride carried silk flowers with turquoise accents. The golden retriever (and dog-of-honor) only stepped on the bride’s dress once. All is well that ends well…happily ever after….
