Senior Pictures on Vacation in Red River, NM

This handsome senior attends high school at St. Pius in Albuquerque and has been coming up to Red River for skiing, Christmas, and summer rec since he was a kid. It was a good idea and a given that his senior pictures would be taken in Red River. I met Jacob and his mom at Mallette Park and we took advantage of the gorgeous autumn scenery there. This was a sentimental shoot for Jacob’s mom as she remembered her kids playing in this park as youngsters. Jacob brought his letterman jacket and a few different shirts to change into. He also brought his baseball bat, glove, and all-stars ring to showcase as achievements. After Mallette Park we had fun at the ski lift and getting creative with some chair lift shots. Jacob has been skiing this mountain since he was a little child! We hiked up the ski mountain a bit to capture the golden foliage and contrasting white trunks on the aspen trees. We also captured Jacob with the old Snow Cat trail groomer that is a landmark sight on the Red River ski hill! Lastly we headed to the covered bridge, another popular spot in Red River. The river was a beautiful background and important as it’s the namesake of this little mountain town. Here’s to Jacob and an awesome senior shoot. We got some amazing senior pictures for this family to have when their senior graduates and heads off to college. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

Class of 2021

Class of 2021

The Class of 2021… This is the class of high school students who missed in-person learning at the end of their junior year, only to endure zoom-classes for most of their senior year. With in-person classes finally resuming in April of 2021, this class of kids had mere weeks of high school time together, under masks, socially distanced, to learn and thrive before saying goodbye.

This class of Cottonwood Classical seniors were lucky enough to walk at graduation. They walked, with masks, across the stage, elbow-bumping their educators before receiving the diploma. Despite the insanity and chaos, they did it.

So here’s to the Class of 2021, who proved their resilience and ingenuity during a difficult and poignant time. You did it. Good luck in the future and congratulations!
