Wedding at First Presbyterian Church in Taos, NM

Wedding at First Presbyterian Church in Taos, NM

This bride and groom were long time Taos locals before moving away and settling up in Colorado. The church, First Presbyterian of Taos, is conveniently located in the middle of Taos next to Kit Carson Park and a beautiful church for a wedding ceremony in a sanctuary. The exterior and interior of this old church are the traditional Pueblo style: adobe on the outside and adorned indoors with vigas on the ceiling and a simple cross on the wall. Afterwards the photographer took this couple out for a few photographs with the great Taos Mountain. Congratulations to lovely newlyweds!

These girls are two months old and what fun they are having looking and watching the action around them! This is a fun time to do photos as we can capture the wonder in the eyes. About three months old we can make the baby smile on command, and six months old is usually the photo shoot where the baby is sitting up solo. The next milestone, nine-months-old, is when children are usually standing up by holding onto something and the final photo is the one-year-old pose where the child is standing up all by themselves! These beautiful milestones are over quickly, which is why we capture images to keep forever. When you are pregnant, you can set up your prenatal photo session and then your newborn, 3/6/9 months, and year old photo shoot at one time and mix and match photos for a wall-folio.

Graduate Bella and I took advantage of the end of September and the end of the summer greens and yellows of the changing season. We were able to shoot this senior session at Bella’s grandparents’ home in Questa. It was private and fun to incorporate the old merry-go-round and other memories from Bella’s childhood. Here’s to all of the seniors in Questa and Taos and here’s to an awesome senior year! Hooray class of 2018!

Outdoor September Wedding at Taos Bed and Breakfast

Outdoor September Wedding at Taos Bed and Breakfast

Megan was born and raised in Taos, New Mexico and returned “home” (all the way from Oregon) for her wedding at Adobe and Pines Inn. This outdoor wedding at local bed and breakfast was presided by the bride’s uncles. The bride and groom enjoyed a “first look” before the ceremony began. The aisle was made by flower petals and the the ceremony took place in the grassy green courtyard with statue St. Francis overseeing the event.

The Best Ever Ending of a Beginning

Jessica and Auda are brides from Texas who came to their New Mexico neighbors to get married in front of Taos Mountain at SpiriTaos. The photos from Jessica and Auda’s wedding are some of my favorite “end of ceremony” photos ever. Usually the married couple kisses and then walks down the aisle for the recessional. Jessica and Auda were different. Their emotion and excitement was ecstatically beautiful and so photogenic. These are 11 successive images that I captured in less than one minute at the end of this ceremony. And they are beautiful.
