Laila and Joe came all the way from Oklahoma City, OK to get married in Taos, NM! This small and intimate wedding was held at Hacienda del Sol, a bed and breakfast in Taos that caters to many destination weddings. The brisk air didn’t stop this couple from stepping outside to take some pictures with the beautiful and wintery backgrounds that January in Taos offers. The ceremony took place inside of the charming hacienda, in front of a warm fireplace, with Reverend Karen Baldwin officiating.
Audrey and Robert had an intimate wedding ceremony at a Taos bed and breakfast, Hacienda del Sol. This couple walked down a unique aisle of green grass, created by absence of the beautiful autumn leaves that covered the rest of the Hacienda’s grounds. The mountains were a gorgeous backdrop to a perfect ceremony. Jimmy Stadler played acoustic guitar and there was a crisp autumn feeling in the air. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is NOTHING like a Taos wedding!
Nicolette has been modeling for artists for over a decade; I was so pleased for the opportunity to photograph this beautiful, native Taosena! Nicolette admits that she was very nervous prior to her photo session, but within 15 minutes we were both talking and laughing and she was totally relaxed.
There is more to being a studio photographer than just pushing the button on the camera. I pride myself on a shining personality that allows me to easily chat and connect with my clients. Without this connection, I feel it would be difficult to execute even one image that truly represents the personality of my subject.
The doctors over at the Taos Chiropractic and Healing Center are going to be kicking off their new website soon! It was fun to take pictures of patients receiving treatments: massage, laser, physiotherapy, injection, and acupuncture. Pain problems do not discriminate and Dr. Tom, Dr. Doug, and Dr. Keith treat babies, children, adults, and the elderly.
Christina Lucia Peralta-Ramos is the granddaughter of famous artist, Millicent Rogers. Millicent collected over 1300 pieces of jewelry in her lifetime; Christina has inherited her grandmother’s love of the beautiful southwest silver: rings, necklaces, belts, bracelets, earrings. These photos were taken at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, NM where Christina sits on the board of directors. Christina enjoys coming to Taos from her home in California where she has been an actress and model for most of her life.
Although I have some fantastic places “up my sleeve,” I love it when my clients have new ideas on where to go for their on-location photo sessions. Places I have never been before are absolutely inspiring. New places make me think, and be sharp and quick about my decisions. Upon arrival I must scan the landscape for the best lighting and backgrounds and view “the big picture” so I can take advantage of both my telephoto and wide-angle lenses. The beauty of New Mexico is that there are always new places to discover; this gives me a never ending enthusiasm for not only my profession, but my passion: photography.
