The early morning July air was cool as this young bride and groom waited patiently for their dream wedding…a summertime sunrise elopement in a small, desert, mountain town. This couple came from the city so the sounds of silence were the perfect “music” for their intimate wedding ceremony. The officiant, Dan Jones, wrote a beautiful ceremony integrating the labyrinth walk into the words of the devotions. When the sun broke through over the mountains and instantly warmed the outdoors, this wedding felt so perfect and right. The light in the bride’s eyes was magical.
The labyrinth is one of several private gardens that we offer to be used as a ceremony venue for our larger elopement packages.
After originally planning a large wedding, this couple took a few steps back and decided to elope to the mountains to have a wedding ceremony that was instead intended only for them. Taos has forests and deserts, mountains, groomed gardens, and natural sage landscapes. The weather was warm and the sudden, small gusts of wind were unpredictable, check out the ceremony pictures that grabbed Julia’s veil!! After a late sprnig, Taos is still waiting for the buds to come in on the trees, which gave us some really pretty mountain views that we don’t have from the Sacred Circle at the El Monte Sagrado in the summertime! Everyone had fun playing games on the Taos Mountain Lawn while enjoying happy hour. The reception took place in El Monte’s main ballroom.
This little fella came with the new year as he was born the first week of January! At one week old, this mister was a joy to work with. His first-time mama was sensitive to his needs and made him feel safe when he was a little unsure of the camera. We had this shoot scheduled before this baby was born. This is an easy shoot for mom because she doesn’t even need to be in the pictures!
This bride and groom had never been to Taos before their wedding; their best friends (from Albuquerque) suggested this resort in Taos and the wedding location was decided!
It was the 5th of January and it was over 50 degrees on this warm winter day. We did the pre-wedding photos outdoors and then moved into a gallery with a pretty view of treetops! Congratulations to Lori and Matt and here’s to the first wedding photographed in 2018!
