Julie and Julian had a private and intimate ceremony at a location they stumbled upon while hiking outside of Taos. The cross and arch adorned this outdoor scene and a sign “heaven awaits” was a little walk away. The couple and their children took part in a sand ceremony together. The children were also included in the nuptials when the bride and groom recited vows to one another and to their kids as well.
My favorite shoots are when I have the opportunity to capture the precious smiles of children. My first photography job was actually a “mall job” taking photographs of kids. My manager was at least 10 years younger than me and I had to wear a necktie, the experience was humiliating. However, I did learn some “tricks” to get the young ones to smile, and this knowledge has been totally invaluable to me.
This little guy was “text book” in responding to my smiling tricks. We documented these smiles in less than five minutes AND had a blast doing it! I’ve been photographing this little man since he was just days old. I love my job.
Babies change so extremely fast! The difference in a baby’s face and body is so extreme from newborn, to three months, to six months, to 12 months. Additionally, at three months a baby holds his head up, at six months a baby is sitting up, at nine months standing up, at 12 months a baby is usually walking. These are the milestones that you want your photographer to capture during the 3/6/9/12 month baby portrait photo sessions. Many mothers schedule these photo shoots at their maternity sessions to make sure it’s in the calendar!
While attending a wedding in the mountains of Utah, I took some time out to capture some photos for this family’s 2014 Christmas cards! Family photos are very popular at this time of year since many people share a photo with friends and family for the holidays. Call and schedule your holiday family pictures and share a smile with your loved ones from miles away.
Many families like to have family portraits taken while on vacation in New Mexico. Poetic Images by Deanna travels to all surrounding areas of Taos (Red River, Eagles Nest, Angel Fire, Questa, San Cristobal, Los Alamos, Espanola, Penasco, etc) to capture the relaxed smiles of you while away from home! This family was visiting Red River, NM from Texas! Although the little guy wasn’t very happy with having these family portraits (and two year old portraits) done, he eventually warmed up to the camera and we got some genuine smiles!
The summer is a great time to have those beautiful green backgrounds in your professional family photographs! This family traveled to Taos to celebrate Father’s Day. While they were here, they took advantage of their family reunion and scheduled a photo session with Poetic Images. We had fun getting photos of the entire family together, each individual couple, photos of the kids, photos of each individual family, and pictures of the grandparents with the grandchildren too! This family did a great job coordinating outfits and giving sincere smiles. What a wonderful way to remember a vacation and a family get-together in gorgeous Taos, NM!
