This soon-to-be-family came from Texas to Angel Fire, NM for a vacation. When they arrived, their home didn’t have heat…and it was 25 degrees outside. Despite a long drive, moving into a hotel, and cold temperatures, we still captured some amazing smiles. Lynn and Jon will be married this summer, little Macy loves Jon and is along for the ride! Congratulations to a beautiful engagement and a lovely blended family!
The fall foliage peak was over but we still found some beautiful autumn colors to include with this father-daughter family photo session. Lucas and Juniper and I took advantage of a beautiful side street in town that had a few lasting yellows and golds, it even had one tree that was still green! It was a long and strange autumn this year in Taos, the wonderful thing about that was we had lots of time to get every baby, family, senior, engagement shoot, and wedding whom wanted those gorgeous autumn earth tones in their portraits.
Per usual we had a limited time to do these two-year-old portraits, and after that two-year-olds stop being models and start being toddlers again! Brogan and his parents have been clients of mine since Brogan was an infant. He is fun to adventure around with as he does his portraits; he is a mini-man and is always on a mission! Although we have been shooting tons of weddings, we always are shooting family, baby, and children’s portraits as well! The summertime is a wonderful time for children’s portraits as we have plenty of backgrounds and shady areas for children who may get bored if they are in one spot for too long! We captured Eli and Mr. Lion standing up for a few poses before we had to sit the little wiggle worm down. And then he felt like such a big boy sitting on the wall! This gorgeous new baby came into the world at the end of May and was only six-weeks-old for this shoot. In 14 years of shooting, I have never had a 6-week-old smiling on-command! This baby also rolls over already…what an advanced little model! We had fun with little Maya, and after the shoot her sister, Luka (the dog), wanted to get some professional portraits in a tutu too!

After many months of beautiful browns in the backgrounds, we are finally moving onto beautiful, green backgrounds! I absolutely love this time of year! I forget how many different tones of green our earth shares. How one flower can brighten an entire portrait!
