Wedding on the Rio Grande

Wedding on the Rio Grande

There is nothing like standing next to class 3 rapids to photograph the union of two wonderful women! This couple came all of the way from Indiana to Taos, NM (well, actually Pilar, NM) to have a legal marriage! The wedding took place where two rivers come together, the perfect metaphor for a wedding ceremony. The roar from the water and the hollers of “congrats” from the whitewater rafters intensified the already extraordinary energy of this wedding. Officiant, Dan Jones of Embracing Ceremonies, delivered a gorgeous ceremony, there was not a dry eye among the guests. Congrats to Kim and Melissa!

Wedding Elopement Destination: Taos!

Wedding Elopement Destination: Taos!

This bride and groom found and booked their entire destination wedding online! It is actually very common for couples to find their wedding vendors online. In “the olden days,” one had to rely on word-of-mouth to know if a vendor was reliable, this was problematic when planning a destination wedding. Now a simple Google search can tell you so much about your wedding photographer, florist, officiant, and wedding venue. Elopements are increasingly popular and all-inclusive destination wedding packages are created to cater to brides and grooms who just want to sit back and relax and enjoy the most important day of your lives.

Destination Wedding Get-Away

This couple traveled from Texas to New Mexico to elope in Taos! The wedding ceremony took place at Touchstone Inn which is a green oasis in this Northern New Mexico desert land. The green grass, shade, and pleasant breeze kept all cool and comfortable in the early summer heat. What fun to walk around and shoot some romantics inside and outside this bed and breakfast, so many interesting rooms adorned with beautiful art!

Native Wedding Elopement Ceremony

Howard Badhand is a Lakota Native whom preforms wedding ceremonies in New Mexico and South Dakota. This couple came to have their destination wedding at El Monte Sagrado here in Taos, NM. The ceremony took place in a round room and had a spiritual flavor to reflect the Native culture of Northern New Mexico. The Native American peace pipe, prayer ribbons, and star quilt were integrated into the ceremony as well as western traditional wedding rings and wedding vows.
