“As we look back at our family portraits from Taos Ski Valley, we are reminded of the power of photography to preserve cherished memories. Each image tells a story of adventure, love, and connection—a testament to the bonds that grow stronger amidst the backdrop of majestic mountains. Deanna, these portraits are not just snapshots but reflections of a journey filled with laughter, discovery, and the joy of being together as a family.
Our experience in Taos Ski Valley was beautifully encapsulated by you, capturing moments of our children that will be cherished for generations.”
As a photographer, I have come to deeply appreciate the profound significance that family photographs hold. Beyond mere images, they serve as timeless windows into cherished moments, encapsulating the essence of love, connection, and shared experiences. Family photographs are invaluable because freeze moments in time, preserving milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and family vacations. These images become a tangible record of growth, change, and achievements within the family unit. They allow us to revisit and reminisce about special occasions that shape our lives.
Few things can match the cheerful beauty of the sunflower-season in Taos, especially when it serves as the backdrop for family portraits. Recently, I had the joy of photographing a lovely mother and her two young boys amidst the golden blooms in Taos, New Mexico. The bright sunflowers, the playful energy of the boys, and the loving bond they share with their mother made for an enchanting and memorable photoshoot.
Taos is known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant artistic community, and in late summer to early fall, the sunflower fields become a highlight. These tall, sunny flowers create a striking sea of yellow, their faces following the sun across the sky. This natural beauty provided a perfect, whimsical setting for capturing the essence of family love.
Crystal and her boys were head to toe in Carhart and they look like models in the photos! We had to shoot this despite the cold 27 degree temperatures because our schedules couldn’t mesh any other day, and spring was on the way! The cold temperatures made the brothers silly and rowdy, by the end of our photo session both Robbie and Roman were exhausted!
