Private Taos Elopement in Forest

Private Taos Elopement in Forest

After originally planning a large wedding, this couple took a few steps back and decided to elope to the mountains to have a wedding ceremony that was instead intended only for them. Taos has forests and deserts, mountains, groomed gardens, and natural sage landscapes. Taos has waterfalls and rivers, ponds and lakes…for a small town, we have a big area and versatile backgrounds to work with. Taos is a perfect place for your destination wedding or elopement!

May Wedding On Rim of Rio Grande Gorge

May Wedding On Rim of Rio Grande Gorge

This bride and groom were given the gift of “perfect weather” on their wedding day. An early May wedding outdoors in Northern New Mexico can be a very unpredictable event. Thunderstorms with possible snow was forecast up until the night prior to the ceremony, and then the weather magically changed and we had sunshine instead! Jackie had her brother and her two best girlfriends stand up at the altar with her. Tyler had his father and son, Anakin, stand up with him. Anakin was not happy with his suspenders and chose to hangout with his grandma instead. Turkey vultures circled overhead and a warm breeze made the bride’s hairpiece and dress dance so appropriately. Congratulations to these newlyweds!

Spring Green Senior Portraits

Spring Green Senior Portraits

After months of portraits with brown backgrounds there is a noticeable difference in the green of spring! Just ten days prior to this shoot, we had 12″ of snow on the ground in Taos Canyon. The earth has drank up the much needed water and everything is growing! Here’s to May, the last month that we may still have a freeze. And the first month where it really feels like spring!
And here’s to Samantha from Taos Pueblo! She’s a senior in high school and is graduating at the end of this month from Taos High School. Congratulations, Samantha!!

Baby’s Outdoor Photo Adventure

Baby’s Outdoor Photo Adventure

This was Noah’s very first professional photo sitting, and he was a model baby!! He smiled when we asked…over and over again! This six-month-old baby also showed his big-boy skills of sitting up, eating his fingers, and grabbing the grass. So cute!!
Babies change so rapidly during their first 12 months of life. Be sure to schedule your 3, 6, 9, and 12 month photo shoots for your baby when they are born, this way you have these appointments in your calendar in advance! Poetic Images is here to document these big, important, and quick changes!

Destination Wedding Under the Gazebo on the Taos Plaza

Destination Wedding Under the Gazebo on the Taos Plaza

This wedding took place on Cinco de Mayo under the Gazebo on the historic Taos Plaza! The groom and best man rode into the plaza (and wedding ceremony) on motorcycles while the bride took the more traditional route of walking down the aisle with her father. The chiles hanging from the adobe buildings in the background of the ceremony photos give this wedding a true southwest feel. The wedding reception took place at The Gorge restaurant and bar right on the plaza!
