We had beautiful April weather for this outdoor Taos wedding with Pueblo Peak as the altar backdrop. This bride and groom intentionally were wed on Earth Day, to honor Mother Earth and their shared love of nature. Lovers of Taos and northern New Mexico, this was a destination wedding as the couple traveled here from Texas! Both sets of their parents also took planes, trains, and automobiles to get to this off-the-beatten=path unique southwest town.
This awesome woman wanted to document her 40th year of life with a photo session! We had fun as Irene changed outfits and we found different ways to reflect her beauty and personality. Here’s to 40 more years of happiness and adventures!
Sonya and Adam are going to be wed this summer in Questa and will have their wedding reception at the Red River Convention Center! After rescheduling a few times, we finally captured this family and engagement session on a calm morning of what was otherwise a windy spring day in April. We were definitely “on the move” as this darling little boy is full of energy and wants to RUN!! Of course these kids will be the flower girl and ring bearer for the July wedding.
What a pleasure to work with Amber Adams, certified Pilates instructor in her 1oth year of teaching.
Here’s a little ‘blurb’ I took directly from Amber’s Pilates website. She’s amazing, pop on by her studio! https://highdesertpilates.com/
“Having gained experience as a gymnast and dancer as a youth, Amber was drawn to Pilates as a young adult because it offered a “coming home” to body mechanics and movement. With a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Western Kentucky University, she moved to Taos in 2003. She received her Pilates certification in 2008 after working for two years with Michele Larson of Core Dynamics in Santa Fe and interning with Carrie Field at Taos Pilates Studio. Committed to continuing education in the field, she has pursued advanced work with the Balanced Body Program in Denver as well as with Core Dynamics. Attending smaller workshops with Alan Herdman and Madeline Black.
Pleased with what Pilates has done for her “at so many different levels,” Amber wants to extend it to people of all ages and demographics and to work with modifications for those who may have injuries or disabilities.”
I got together with this darling couple earlier in the afternoon on wedding day since their entire wedding was outdoors after dark. We captured their smiles in the daylight before I left to come back after dark.
This bride and groom came to Taos for their destination elopement and planned the ceremony to be during the 2nd full moon in January. This full moon was also a lunar eclipse. This was officially my first “Blue Blood Moon” wedding. Additionally, the wedding was shot in a labyrinth… It was unique and beautiful and very Taos!
January was so warm that we shot portraits outside throughout the entire month. The natural brownish earth tones are so beautiful in the natural light and it’s rare that we can use these backgrounds without shooting in the cold! This shoot was taken for a local musician and songwriter who is creating a website. It was so fun to do head shots with the guitar for a prop instead of just the usual chest up shots.
Call Poetic Images by Deanna for your local business photography needs. We make the shoot fun and we take outstanding photographs…you’ll be pleased.
