Wedding and Reception in Dulce, New Mexico

Wedding and Reception in Dulce, New Mexico

The weather in Ducle, NM started out perfectly on this June wedding day. And then it rained. And rained and rained. The electricity went out in the church immediately after the ceremony but everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the reception site had a back up generator. This wedding reception was long, loud, and fun. All guests were up and dancing to everything from an Irish wedding song to Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style.’

What a fun portrait session with two gorgeous little girls! Danielle and Natalie were so well-behaved and fun during this shoot! Although a lot of outfit changes on a baby is not recommended (it exhausts them!), Danielle did a great job modeling her baptismal dress, and two darling sundresses. I’ve been taking photos of Natalie since she was a week old (she’s four now) and is always a joy to photograph.

This little guy is a “regular” as I have done portraits of him at 9 months and as a newborn! Rivers warmed up to the camera quite quickly and after a few poses decided he’d rather explore instead. It was fun to capture Rivers as he was enjoying the outdoors, as an 18 month old should! I’m already looking forward to the next shoot I have with this sweet boy!

Joe and Dexter’s outdoor, April wedding took place in El Monte Sagrado’s Sacred Circle. The Sacred Circle was blessed by many different religious leaders and many weddings at El Monte take place in this spiritual space. Dexter and Joe’s wedding ceremony was officiated by Dan Jones, Taos’ leading (and El Monte’s premier) wedding officiant. The ceremony was fifteen minutes long with loving readings from the grooms’ son and Dexter’s mother. Per usual, Dan’s words bestowed emotion on all and no one left with a dry eye. Congratulations to Dexter and Joe!

Senior Photos for Vista Grande Student

A senior sitting only takes about an hour and a half and is usually super-fun for your kid! Of course most seniors are a little nervous at first, but after about ten minutes they are chatty and excited they are getting their photos taken.
Being a high school senior is a milestone and I love to document this special time in your child’s life! I encourage seniors to bring up to six different outfits and any “props” they would also like to use!
