Mountain Wedding Among the Aspen Trees

Mountain Wedding Among the Aspen Trees

Local Taos couple had a micro-wedding in the aspens trees at the Carson National Forest in Valle Escondido. This hidden valley was rich with green on this magical solstice autumn day. This weekday wedding in the forest was quiet with birds signing and a gentle breeze. Both Sarah and Michael had their parents witness the wedding. And Michael’s brother came for dude support. This fun couple were off on a wedding hike following this ceremony, one step at a time to their Happily Ever After in Taos.

Heather and Seth left their blended family of six children behind to run off to the mountains in Taos, New Mexico and elope! The wedding ceremony officiated by Dan Jones at a local Inn. The weather was warm even thought the sky was clouds. Taos Mountain was omnipresent. The newlyweds celebrated their wedding with dinner at local favorite The Love Apple. The restaurant which was once a church has navy blue accents were perfect with Heather’s navy printed shoes, earrings, and ribbon on her bouquet. This gorgeous bouquet was designed by Enchanted Florist of Taos.

Red River Elopement in August

Jackie and Catrina found a little cabin in Carson National Forest outside of Red River and planned a simple outdoor elopement. Karen Kelly of KWK Events provided the wedding flowers, a hair stylist, and an officiant, she could not however provide good weather. The ceremony began and it immediately started raining. Catrina smiled and politely refused an umbrella. The bride and groom then said their vows and sealed the vows with a kiss, in the rain! It was gorgeous and romantic and rare. There is nothing like an outdoor wedding in New Mexico!

Kath and Brian are visiting Taos from New York City and wanted some photos with the mountains. We had a beautiful overcast sky and the mountains were on their best display. I loved that this couple wore hiking boots with their dress-up gear (they hiked the South Boundary Trail the day before)! We took some traditional photos and some more casual photos with the landscape and some local art. By the end of our shoot the sunshine was out and it felt like a Taos summertime again!

Casa Benavides is a beautiful and historic bed and breakfast in Taos! As a Taos photographer who has lived here for almost two decades, I am shocked I haven’t shot at this venue before. I had so much fun using the gorgeous art and beautiful blue accents in these senior photographs. The property is pristine with “Taos Blue” painted portals and vigas. The dining area and great room are brilliantly painted and the hand carved wood is traditional and unique. High school senior, Itzmir, is a brilliant student and a fabulous model. We had so much fun capturing her senior pictures at this Taos landmark. Congratulations to class of 2023!!

Senior Shoot at Taos Ski Valley

Senior Shoot at Taos Ski Valley

This senior shoot was a true adventure at the Taos Ski Valley! After William and I took many photos for almost two hours, we rode the chair lift up the mountain to get some final pictures with a view. As soon as we got off the chairlift, it closed down because lightening was detected nearby. So here we are at the top of the mountain with lightening and they advise us hike down. Upon consideration of safety, we were then offered a ride down by the lift operator, in an old suburban, which we were happy to take.
