In my contract as the official photographer for the Town of Taos Eco Park, I was to take some photos of the FIFA certified soccer field while it was empty. I loved being alone to walk around on that bouncy turf to take photos with the sunshine and the sunset, the mountains, the park’s development, the lights and parking lot. I love that the parking lot will be covered in solar panels and the Taos Eco Park will run off of solar power. It was really neat getting this contract and being part of the opening of this green park.
High school senior photos are a perfect way to document the incredible accomplishment of a journey finally completed. You may bring up to six different outfits to your senior photo session and we will photograph you with your guitar, your car, in your sports gear, cap and gown, on your snowboard or skis, in your favorite t-shirt, or your best dress clothes, or whatever you may challenge us with. I love the traditional Native outfit that Dino is wearing in some of these photos. The turquoise is so brilliant and the bead work is amazing.
Betsy Musselman, Taos attorney specializing in family law, had me come to her law office to take some photos for her new website. I took pictures of her office (check out the amazing colors in her rooms) and head shots of Betsy for new business cards. Poetic Images has been doing tons of photography for websites, business cards, and other forms of business advertising.
This beautiful woman wanted some gorgeous, and sexy, nude photographs for herself. She wants to have these so someday she can look back at these images and smile. She said that maybe she will share these photos with her boyfriend, but really it was a gift to herself. I do a lot of boudoir sessions and many times women and men have these photos taken for their spouse, partner, or significant other (which is always appreciated by the receiver, I’m sure). But I do find people doing these photo shoot for themselves, especially fantastic and admirable. Here’s to you!
Armando needed a variety of different digital images for a photography project for his work, so we went to work! This photo session was captured at one of my super secret locations here in the Town of Taos. I love all of the different backgrounds that this location has to offer: green trees and flowers, various colors of adobe, broken down and spray painted areas, both bright colors and earth tones, and most importantly, fantastic lighting!
Although Gina loves to smile, she wanted some more serious photos during this photo session (as you can see I still captured a few of her precious smile anyway)! Gina is a charming girl who was born in Taos but has lived all over the world; Gina speaks three languages fluently. Gina lives in Germany but visits her grandfather in Arroyo Hondo once a year. While she is in town Gina’s mom always schedules a photo shoot. I have watched this girl grow up over the years.
There is nothing that compares to the beauty of colorful autumn leaves. Josiah and Bryna dressed up in their fall colors for portraits to use in their Christmas cards. As a photographer that has lived in Taos for seven beautiful autumns, I have many gorgeous places “up my sleeve” that have perfect light and color for our digital photography. I do tons of shoots during in the autumn when the leaves are changing so be sure to book your children’s portraits early to get the time that works with your busy school schedule!
Alison and Donald were married under the traditional Jewish wedding canopy, a Chuppah. Their wedding was on a very rainy day so of course friends were joking that the Chuppah would keep them dry if we had another downfall. As soon as the couple were wed, the sunshine came out to light up Taos Mountain. The reception site at restaurant Sushi A La Hattori was a perfect place for congregating, delicious food, and gorgeous photos in green courtyard at Overland Sheepskin Company.
Andrea and Tom came from the east coast to enjoy their destination wedding in Taos, NM. Their intimate ceremony at El Monte Sagrado took place in The Sacred Circle and was officiated by Reverend Susan Varon. The only guests were the bride and the groom’s sets of parents. The clouds provided beautiful natural lighting for photos with gorgeous green backdrop.
Every summer little Kelie comes to New Mexico to hangout with her daddy. It’s hard to tell but during this session Kelie was extremely exhausted from a long flight, followed by a long car ride up to Taos. Needless to say, Kelie wasn’t interested in the camera AT ALL. And then Kelie’s dad worked his magic and Kelie was all giggles. We did this shoot at a location which gave Kelie the opportunity to run around and play while I was shooting these timeless images.
Angela and Ben got married at the St. James Episcopalian Church in Taos, NM. The silver and turquoise cross on the altar is in beautiful southwest design. The stained glass and pueblo-style architecture make gorgeous backgrounds. The church has air conditioning and gorgeous light. A wonderful venue for an indoor Taos wedding ceremony!
David needed portraits for his “I’m One!” birthday invitations. Children’s photography involves working extremely fast as young children have very short attention spans and get tired very easily. David is a very serious little boy and had very little patience with me or his mom and dad after about 30 minutes; however, the first 30 minutes were awesome. David has a wonderful giggle and enjoys sitting and crawling in the green grass.
Carla and Fermin had a full Catholic ceremony when they were wed at Holy Trinity Parish in the small village of Arroyo Seco outside of Taos, NM. They celebrated their wedding reception at the Sagebrush Hotel and Convention Center in Los Ranchos de Taos. While driving from the ceremony to the reception site, we stopped to take some photos of the entire wedding party, and some romantics of Carla and Fermin, with beautiful Taos Mountain adorning background. As usual, the New Mexico sky let itself so beautifully to these wedding photographs.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is the cathedral right off of the plaza in Taos, NM. This church is special to the groom, Jose, because he and his father constructed all of the woodwork for the church, including the altar. Angelina and Jose had a huge wedding ceremony and reception as they were both born and raised in the area (Angelina from Questa, Jose from Taos). We had amazing light at the end of the night when we stepped outside to photograph some romantics at the Sagebrush Convention Center.
This one-of-a-kind Taos wedding took place in the beautiful private gardens of the Bruce Family in the heart of Taos, NM. Their unique outdoor summer wedding was detailed with blue lights, tablecloths, hydrangea flowers and a yummy blue candy bar! Congratulations to the newly weds Michael and Misty!
This wedding was at the country club in Valle Escondido, a golfing community in Taos Canyon. The beautiful bride, Carly, loves flowers as she grew up helping her mom run The Enchanted Florist here in Taos, NM. Exquisite flowers adorned the ceremony aisles and the altar. Carly had an orchid in her hair and Adam had a matching orchid boutineer on his tuxedo.
Kiara and her mommy took photos to send to Kiara’s daddy in Iraq. This one-year-old’s portrait session was exciting as Kiara is crawling and loves to be on the move! I love a challenge and children’s portraits present challenges constantly. I take pride in the photos that come out of a tricky shoot and love the memories that are created during the shoot, and also captured in a timeless photograph.
I have some amazing places “up my sleeve” in the Taos area to do awesome on-location shoots for engagement, family, children, and high school seniors. This shoot of Carla and Fermin was done at the beginning of December here in Taos; the natural lighting and beautiful earth tones created gorgeous backgrounds for us!

Jennifer and Juan came to Taos, NM from Housten, Texas to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary! We went out to El Prado to do this shoot. Juan does not like to be photographed but we all had a good time talking and laughing and he ended up relaxed and looking great in these photos! I do believe that having a good personality is one large reason why I am successful as a photographer. I love to chat with people and I get along with everybody; this directly reflects in how relaxed my subjects feel and makes the images even that much better.
This gorgeous autumn day in Taos was perfect for a special engagement shoot. The 200 year old Cottonwood trees which line Burch Street in Taos turn to amazing shades of gold in the fall to create the perfect romantic backdrop for these memorable engagement photos. Congratulations to Mike and Misty of Taos!
I photographed this family at the popular sculpture gallery and gardens, Lumina, just off of the Ski Valley Road outside of Taos. We did this on-location family photo session at the end of the summer and my camera picked up all of the rich earth tones of greens and browns that New Mexico generously offers during this season. These guys were incredibly easy to photograph with their nice smiles and beautiful personalities.
