Fall Family Photography in Taos, NM

Fall Family Photography in Taos, NM

The entire month of October is just beautiful in Northern New Mexico. In Taos the grasses and leaves take an entire month to change. I love the backgrounds in these pictures at the beginning of the October; the greens and yellows together are so pretty! The contrast of the leaves and the tree trunks is beautiful to me too. It was a brisk morning but we managed to get smiley photos of the almost-two-year-old before she burned out (photo shoots are a lot of work)!!

Taos High School Senior Pictures

Taos High School Senior Pictures

This is the best time of year for senior photos; the fall colors beautiful in October, and then you have this ‘chore’ checked off your list for the rest of the senior year. Usually a senior shoot takes about 1.5 hours and that includes up to six outfit changes. We meet at a convenient Taos location and usually we have a lot of fun. I love exploring new areas and am open to your suggestions for shooting spots.

Green Grass and Golden Leaves

Green Grass and Golden Leaves

This bride and groom picked a beautiful, autumn day to travel from Denver, Colorado to Taos, New Mexico for a gorgeous, outdoor fall wedding. The leaves were floating off of the trees during the short wedding ceremony. Devon wore a delicate, vintage wedding dress. Her chamomile and daisy bouquet was simply wrapped in burlap. The red chiles were a beautiful contrast with the fall foliage, a reminder of the harvest that also takes place in the autumn. Cheers to this young couple and many beautiful autumns to come.

Two-Year-Old and Family Portraits

Two-Year-Old and Family Portraits

Per usual we had a limited time to do these two-year-old portraits, and after that two-year-olds stop being models and start being toddlers again! Brogan and his parents have been clients of mine since Brogan was an infant. He is fun to adventure around with as he does his portraits; he is a mini-man and is always on a mission! Call us so we can capture your family while the weather is still nice and fun to play in. The peak of the fall foliage will be here in a week, this gives us beautiful light and backgrounds, we can’t go wrong!

Wedding on the Taos Mesa

Wedding on the Taos Mesa

This darling couple road tripped all the way from Portland, Oregon to Taos, New Mexico to get married with Shaman, Sandra Chestnutt. The wedding took place on the mesa in the evening before sunset. We had outstanding light and perfect weather. There wasn’t a person for miles and the quiet was welcomed and embraced; out of no where an army helicopter was above us and hovered above the bride and groom, and then it was gone…an unexpected congratulations! The views of the Rio Grande Gorge were stunning and the ceremony was memorable. Congratulations to Lisa and Evan, a delightful pair who will no doubt live happily ever after.
