This Taos Country Club wedding was one I photographed several (six?) years ago! I wanted to post these pictures because it is a good reminder of how unpredictable the weather is here in Northern New Mexico!
When I started to photograph this bride and groom prior to the wedding ceremony, the Sangre de Cristo mountain range was barely visible, but it WAS visible. After the wedding we had a completely white/grey backdrop as the snow storm had moved into Taos and was making it’s way out to the country club! And, then it started snowing…
Five hours later the golf club’s green grass was a blanket of snow. The bride and groom were still in good spirits and even stepped outside for a few more memorable wedding images.
These Taoseños were married right off of the Taos Plaza at Stellas, a cute (and delicious) Italian restaurant on Ledoux Street. The ceremony was officiated by Taos County magistrate court’s Judge Shannon. Marco and his awesome chef prepared the reception dinner for 23 guests. Monique and Miguel are such a relaxed and loving couple and will definitely be living happily ever after.
These women came to Taos for an intimate ceremony at the lovely Touchstone Inn. There were five close friends and family whom came to witness this wedding. The cake was made by Bren Price (owner of Touchstone Inn) and the ceremony was performed by Sandra Chestnutt.
This little boy closed his eyes, put his hat over his head, and turned around so we could not take photos of him! His parents and I talked and encouraged and pleaded and bribed and begged, but we were dealing with a very smart two year old. The photos we did get are still beautiful. And now this little boy is a big brother, so the next photo shoot will be really exciting!
This couple is busy getting ready for their wedding on Easter weekend! Monique and Miguel will celebrate their wedding with a small ceremony and reception of close friends and family. This marriage will take place at Stella’s with dinner and drinks to follow. There is also talk about getting a limousine for the traditional drive (and lots of honking) around the Taos plaza!
This beautiful pregnant woman is due to have her baby in less than four weeks!
Our maternity shoot took place in Albuquerque’s bosque near the Rio Grande. The light was constantly changing as giant clouds came out of nowhere and the sun was still fighting to shine brilliantly! The bare native cottonwoods were photogenic and this soon-to-be mama did an awesome job navigating through the sicks and logs.
Congratulations in advance to Angelica and Jesus!
