Family Photo Session of Family on Vacation in Angel Fire

Family Photo Session of Family on Vacation in Angel Fire

Trail’s End in Angel Fire, NM is a perfect VRBO home for a family vacation! This log home is large and spacious with rocking chairs adorning the front porch. Outdoors the house is surrounded with the natural beauty of mountain life: wildflowers, stunning views, a beautiful fence, tall grass, and gorgeous light.

Although the fire season tried to steal our mountain views, the smoke only added to the silhouettes and light. We experienced a quick rain and captured that magic in our photos too.

Family Photos with Wildflowers on Vacation in Red River

This family came to the mountains of New Mexico to enjoy the wilderness and escape the Texas heat! This family vacation in Red River consisted of pony rides, biking, climbing, go carts, hiking, fishing, and a family photo shoot for upcoming Christmas cards! Although the kids wanted to be really silly, we talked them into some sweet smiles by promising some goofy photos too. Here’s to family vacations and having fun and capturing all of that in your memorable family photos.

Flowers, Bouquets, Boutonnieres, oh my!

Flowers, Bouquets, Boutonnieres, oh my!

Even if you aren’t a “flowery person,” there’s no doubt about it, the flowers are an important asset to your wedding pictures! Flowers are a burst of color in your photos and can add a little bit of brightness to what is often a photo with a black suit and white dress. Your flowers can be an expression of your favorite season, color, or plant. A great florist can help you incorporate succulents, wildflowers, or even pieces of beautiful weeds and golden wheat into your wedding bouquet. Wedding bouquets can be wrapped in burlap, hemp, ribbon, and twine to really show your style. A bouquet can be giant (helps to bring out your bicep muscles in your photos, haha), or tiny. They can be long or short stem. I’ve seen glass bouquets, clay bouquets, and dried flower bouquets. The imagination is the limit.
I love it when brides have stunning flowers to hold. I love using the flowers as a frame for a bride’s face, or as a background for a traditional ring photograph. I feel like the flowers are an important piece of the wedding for many reasons and should be included 100% of the time.

El Prado Wedding Ceremony

El Prado Wedding Ceremony

The sunshine was gorgeous and hot at this 10am wedding ceremony in El Prado! The sunflowers were in full bloom and the mountain was majestic. Popular wedding venue, SpiriTaos, was in all it’s glory with the end of the summer gardens in pristine condition.
Megan, Aaron, and I went to Carson National Forest to finish out our photography time, with a quick visit to the labyrinth at San Geronimo on the way. The shade was cool and inviting and this beautiful couple just fell into pose without any help from me.
Congratulations to this awesome couple from Southern New Mexico, and may they have a very “happily ever after!”
